Soledad
This is a personal take on Alzheimer disease. Soledad is a grand-mother with Alzheimer. I imagine her family members talking to her about someone and her trying to remember who they are.
If you are quick, the memories remain. But Alzheimer is relentless and no matter how much you try, she will start forgetting...
In the end, the relationships fade until there is no one else in her mind, but herself...
From a gameplay perspective, I may not have made a good job explaining in-game so here are some tips:
- You can spend as much time as you want at the end of the tutorial/story to try to remember the names.
- If you click on Mother, for instance, you will jump to Margarita. From there you can go to her husband, grand-children, etc... or back to her daughter Soledad.
- To validate a name, click on the name at the center.
- If the names are confusing, try focusing on the colors.
- If you get stuck, passing the name will reset you to Soledad.
Although this game is my submission for the GMTK Game Jam 2020, the playable game is a post jam release with some bug fixes and polishing.
